Searching the Dix Court Docket
The public system has no separate Dix court search option. A Dix court docket search starts with the Nebraska JUSTICE one-time case-information search. Then you narrow the results to Kimball County. Type the party's name. Do not enter "Dix" as if the state form treated the village as a court selector. It searches by party name. A few details matter here. The form needs JavaScript, and the data runs about 24 hours behind. The fee is $17. Results are capped at 30 records, and detail access lasts three calendar days.
Dix court records filed in County Court often carry a C71 case-number pattern. District Court matters use a D71 pattern. Both are format examples only. Match the party name, caption, court, and case number together before you open the Case Summary and Register of Actions.
- Open the statewide JUSTICE search and agree to the search terms before entering the party name.
- Use the party’s last name, then narrow to Kimball County rather than expecting a Dix court option.
- Compare the case number, caption, and court before opening the detailed case view.
- Read the Case Summary first, then use the Register of Actions for the dated Dix-related court events.
- Use the Kimball County clerk to confirm a setting or request a public document when the online result is incomplete.
Dix Court Docket Rolls to County
Dix is a village, not its own county court district. The 2020 Census/TIGER incorporated-place figure lists 286 residents. Yet docket access turns on court jurisdiction and Kimball County, never on village size. A Dix traffic ticket, ordinance matter, misdemeanor, small-claims case, or probate file belongs to the Kimball County court record. That record sits in County Court. Felonies after the preliminary stage, along with district civil cases, take the District Court route.
The official Census incorporated-place table is the source for the Dix population vintage.
Village status explains the census figure. The docket search itself runs through Kimball County and the state court system.
Dix Municipal Court Basics
Dix has no municipal court page, docket search, citation-payment portal, calendar, named clerk, or courthouse of its own. So treat a Dix court docket as part of the county system, not a village one. The Nebraska structure in place for Kimball County sends municipal-ordinance matters to County Court. There is no separate Dix municipal docket.
Traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, small-claims, and other County Court cases tied to Dix start at Kimball County Court. A felony past the preliminary stage or a district civil matter belongs in District Court. The court named in the Case Summary, not the village location, tells you which clerk holds the file. Check the court listed there.
No Dix Docket Portal Located
A missing Dix portal does not mean a Dix case is missing. The public system is statewide JUSTICE. The local choices are Kimball County and the right court level. Someone who searches only the word "Dix" will likely get nothing useful. Records are organized around parties, counties, courts, and case numbers rather than towns.
For repeat searching, Nebraska's subscriber service provides statewide trial-court case information. A $100 annual account covers up to 10 users. General list searches are free, and case details cost $2. It still does not build a Dix-specific database. Nebraska eFiling, likewise, serves attorneys and subscribers who need to file and serve documents. It is not a public Dix docket browser.
Note: A Dix address or citation name does not pick the court. Confirm the court and case number in the result itself.
Court Dates and Settings in Dix
Dix-related settings come from the County Court or District Court case schedule, not a village calendar. The Case Summary links to Case Schedule Information. The public calendar helps find current or future settings. A setting is simply a scheduled court event. It might be an arraignment, preliminary hearing, pretrial, trial, motion hearing, or compliance event. A reset can move it to a new date.
| Court | County Court for ordinary Dix-related county matters, or District Court for district matters. |
|---|---|
| Date and time | The scheduled event fields when the docket or calendar returns them. |
| Location | The courtroom or location supplied by the public result, not a separate Dix court building. |
| Judge and setting type | Displayed when returned, with the event type showing why the setting is scheduled. |
| Register history | The dated event list that can show a new setting or reset where entered. |
If a court date affects your appearance, verify it with the clerk. The court offers no Dix-specific reminder service, docket-day list, or session schedule.
Dix Court Calendar by County
The Multi-Court Case Calendar is the appropriate Dix court date tool. Select County Court or District Court, then select Kimball in the county or district field. Search by date or by last name. The state instructions call for at least two characters in a last-name search, and the County Court choice is the usual Dix route for county-court citations, ordinance matters, and other county cases.
The calendar warns that results may be incomplete or untimely. A Dix calendar no-result is therefore not a no-hearing answer. Check the Register of Actions, then call Kimball County Court at 308-235-2831 for a county case. Call Kimball District Court at 308-235-3591 when the case header shows District Court.
Note: The court register supplies the dated case history, while the calendar is a practical search aid for a current or future setting.
Traffic Tickets in Dix
A traffic citation written in the village of Dix still lands in County Court. Search JUSTICE by party name or by the known C71 traffic case format. The Case Summary and Register of Actions will show whatever the clerk has entered publicly. That may include the court event, a scheduled appearance, a judgment, financial activity, a payment, or an appeal. Keep in mind the register is a court record. It is not a complete driving record.
The village offers no official ticket-payment portal and posts no Dix court calendar. For a citation question, Kimball County Court is the courthouse to call. Nebraska's state ePayments service may cover eligible court matters. The docket and the official payment service confirm eligibility and timing. The Kimball County traffic tickets information walks through county-wide ticket procedures.
Dix Court Register and Ordinances
An ordinance text and a court register answer two different questions about Dix. The ordinance tells you what the local rule says. The County Court docket tells you what happened once a case was filed: a citation, a plea, a hearing, a judgment, a payment, or an appeal. One cannot substitute for the other. And there is no separate Dix municipal docket where the two come together.
| Source | What it can answer | What it cannot replace |
|---|---|---|
| Village ordinance text | What a local rule says | The court event history or outcome |
| County Court Register of Actions | Filed court events, settings, and public results | The full ordinance text or every restricted document |
Read a Dix court record from the case header down through the chronological register. If an image is missing, that may just mean an older or restricted document. It does not mean the event left the court history.
Where Dix Cases Go
Dix cases do not go to a separate municipal court docket. Custody depends on the case type. Kimball County Court takes the ordinary Dix traffic, misdemeanor, infraction, small-claims, probate, guardianship, conservatorship, adoption, municipal-ordinance, and many juvenile matters. Felonies move to District Court after bind-over. District civil and family cases filed there go to District Court as well.
Docket flow: Dix-related filing or citation → Kimball County Court → Kimball District Court when a district filing or felony bind-over applies.
Need the right clerk? The Kimball County Court profile names the County Court clerk, and the Kimball District Court profile names the District Court clerk. The court header on the public record tells a Dix reader which office to contact. For the wider picture, the Kimball County court docket overview maps the whole county.
Dix Court Search Uses County 71
County number 71 ties a Dix docket search to Kimball County. That number sits in the state case-number format. The letter C marks a county-level case, and D marks a district-level one. A type code narrows the record slice further. These markers help when you already hold a Dix party's case number. Still, check the full header before treating any result as the right case.
- C71
- A Kimball County case-number prefix for county-level records.
- D71
- A Kimball County case-number prefix for district-level records.
- TR, CR, and CI
- State format examples for traffic, criminal, and civil case types.
- Case Summary
- The header view showing the court, county, case ID, caption, judge, subtype, opened date, and status.
- Register of Actions
- The chronological court event list that serves as the public Dix docket record.
The official county-number list lists Kimball as county 71. Dix gets no number of its own because it is an incorporated place inside Kimball County.
Dix Court Record Access Rules
Public Dix court records sit under the same Nebraska judicial rules. Those rules govern the Kimball County path. Electronic access can include case summaries, registers, available images, calendars, and judgment summaries. Even so, a Dix case may show a public register entry with a masked field. It may also carry a restricted image or an unavailable older document. Sealed cases, juvenile information, adoption material, and protected personal or financial details face separate limits.
Key Rules:
Neb. Ct. R. §1-805 identifies the public electronic case, register, calendar, and judgment categories.
Neb. Ct. R. §1-808 excludes sealed, confidential, and otherwise protected court information.
Neb. Ct. R. §2-215 permits public inspection of publicly viewable electronic filings at a court public-access terminal.
A public-record request should name the Dix-related case, the court, the document, and a date range. It cannot override a sealing order or any rule that keeps material from public access.
Dix Court Copy Request Route
Want a copy of a public Dix pleading, order, judgment, or other court document? Use the CC 3:29 copy-request form. Name Kimball County Court or Kimball District Court plus the full case number, document, and date. The form covers electronic or mailed copies, plain or certified. Emailed plain copies are listed as no charge. Mailed plain copies run $0.25 per page. Emailed certified copies are $1 per request, and mailed certified copies cost $1 per seal plus $0.25 per page.
Dix has no court clerk of its own. Take the request to the Kimball County Court counter at 114 East 3rd Street. You can also call 308-235-2831 or ask the clerk about a local mail, fax, or email route. For a district file, call 308-235-3591; District Court clerk Jamie Bright's published email is jamie.bright@nejudicial.gov. The Kimball County District Court office page gives the county-published district route. Ask about payment and delivery, since the county posts no processing-time promise.
Older Dix material may call for a courthouse visit. It may also call for a question about paper and microfilm retention. A public terminal can widen access to electronic filings. It still will not release restricted records.
Kimball County holds about 3.6 people per square mile across 951.94 land square miles in the cited Census material. That sparse rural setting makes the phone a practical fallback. Use it when an online image or calendar result does not answer a court-record question. No separate Dix clerk or portal exists, so the county offices remain the route.
